Anne (Andi) Schroeder,
Artist & Founder of Andi’s People
A city girl at heart, Anne D./Andi grew up in a large family in Boston. She created “Andi's People” in a notebook while a high school student at St. Gregory’s in Dorchester. Friends recall her desire to make people smile with her drawings of little people with long legs and warm smiles that have always reflected her passion for activity, the arts and the simple things. These drawings have been steady companions along her life journey, inspiring dreams and hope, generating smiles, and connecting people across the country and around the globe.
In her early 20's, while living in Hawaii and after printing her first Andi’s People card, Andi was encouraged to obtain a copyright for her illustrations. She set a goal back then to someday build a greeting card business to share her whimsical people nationwide. She was able to commit to Andi’s People full-time in 2010.
In 2011, Andi became a yoga instructor and her love of the practice is reflected in a number of Andi’s People and her overall approach to life. She continues to teach yoga and offers both in person and virtual classes.
Today, Andi creates her loving illustrations in a tiny home studio in her seaside community of Duxbury, MA, where she and her husband have raised their three children.
In February 2018, Andi and her family suffered the unimaginable when they lost their oldest son Ryan in a tragic accident. Andi's People and Yoga have been her lifelines. Ryan was her biggest supporter, and she continues with Andi's People for him.
Today, Andi's People continues to challenge Andi’s commitment to moving forward. Through her art and yoga, she hopes to bring peace and joy to all.
